Brides of Frankenstein?

Here comes the Bride,
all dressed in white-e-e-e-e,
and cream, and black and whatever colour you like.

One of my favourite things whilst looking at the Haute Couture shows are the wedding dresses. NOT that I plan on getting married anytime soon, one would need a fiancé for all that. But, I just love looking at all the over-the-top splendour that some designers send down the catwalk. I keep saying that if/when I do get married, I would like a simple dress. But, I know I know I would be swayed to pick a dress the total opposite of simple.

This is a bit surreal talking about wedding dresses, when I'm not even getting married...any time soon! But, whatever.

What type of dress would you wear if/ when you get married? Or what type of dress/ garment did you wear when getting married?

Here are a few of my favourites!

Hope you have a great Thursday! Also I'd like to thank Closet Fashionista and Marie a la Mode for giving me awards.:)

The Valentino ones are prob my favourites. Have to say I'm with you on the simple thing, and would consider vintage. My Aunt has her Gran's 1930's wedding dress in the attic....should the time come and if it fits..and my Gran has hers from the 60s which is sooooo sweet. I'd hate to end up like one of those girls off my big fat gypsy wedding.....crystal encrusted bustier..redik

Yea, I always say I'll go for simple too but if I had the chance, and money, I would go for a crazy designer dress ;)
All of those are soo pretty! :D

they're all really nice. hmm. tough decision... I think I'd go for a giant fluffy one, just cuz there's not that many opportunities you can wear a giant fluff dress that you can't even go to the washroom in lol

I love the Elie Saab dresses! When I get married I'd like to wear something simple yet elegant, nothing too fluffy or dramatic. Great post!

Hey :)

Imma be BOLD and say I like Alexis Marbile today, eveyone else just looks like a Alex McQueen copycat -still nice but nothing really exceptional. Ms. Marbile seems to be reaching outside her box.

Have a fab day :)

The Givenchy and Elie Saab dresses are stunning! I think (not that I'm planning on getting married anytime soon either!) I would like a simple dress, but I have a feeling I would get all caught up in a huuge dress like Carrie Bradshaw hehe

Omg these gowns are totally making me rethink the dress I would walk down the aisle in. They are SO gorgeous and unique!! Who says you have to wear white on your wedding day?! :)

ilikestuff said...

If I were super-rich I would wear the most over-the-top avant garde wedding dress money could buy. Something so out there that it wouldn't even go out of style. Yes.

Jen said...

The Georges Chakra and Elie Saab gowns are just regal. So gorgeous! And I don't really like how far Chiuri and Piccioli are swaying away from the Valentino norm to appeal to a new clientele... but at least they are keeping the motifs. My favourite for Couture so far has to be Christian Dior!
