ELLE s'appelle Victoria

Love: ELLE UK's new magazine design. Fresh-Fashion.
Admire: Victoria Beckham. She is hard working and not to mention sleek, polished & tailored-just like her new collection for AW13, which you can see here, if you haven't already. She hasn't always been sleek or polished with the way she dresses, but I admire her even more because of that.
Confession: I have Victoria Beckham's autobiography; 'Learning to fly'. I loved reading it, circa a good few years ago. Have you ever read it?

Round And Round We Go With Louis Vuitton

Here we go round the Merry-Go-Round,
The Merry-Go-Round,
The Merry-Go-Round.
Here we go round the Merry-Go-Round.
On a decidedly lacklustre Tuesday Evening.

What Merry-Go-Round? Why, the Louis Vuitton one, of course. Lace collars and Broderie Anglaise dresses. Pastel colours and all the rest. Easy on the eye. Elle and Vogue show Louis Vuitton's designs at their best. Alexa Chung and Lana Del Rey. Pretty in Pastels and all the rest

Love the covers of Vogue UK and Elle UK for March 2012. Yes/No for you?

Anna So Sweet

What’s next for you, Scorpio? You may be chomping at the bit to move forward, but with your ruler (Mars) in a tough angle to the Moon today, it could be a one leap forward, five steps back kind of day. There’s no sense in getting frustrated and blowing up. Remain calm, lust after the Anna Sui (F-W 2011) collection and you’ll be just fine. (Horoscope from ElleUk.com, edited by me.)

I am quite fond of horoscopes, if you are too, have a look at this & this.

Elle

Is there anything better than opening a new magazine for the first time? Whether it be a car magazine, an arts & craft magazine, or my own preference: a fashion magazine. The one magazine that I always look forward to is Elle UK. This months magazine is a good one. Not only does Rosie Huntington-Whiteley look stunning, the content of the magazine is very promising, also. Flipping through it earlier, it is a colourful delight. I can't wait to read it all! Oh, and I want that white silk jacket by The Row which is adorned by RHW.

Which magazine(s) do you look forward to each month?

Lace Describes Me

Well hello there!

I don't know if any of you read Reese Witherspoon's interview in the May edition of ELLE UK? No, yes? Well, this is what jumped out at me: "I would probably summarise my whole personality by saying I'm very... cardigan." What comes to your mind when you think of cardigans? I think cardigans are comforting, soft & welcoming. Reese described herself very well, because that is what I feel her personality is like.

I have another question for you: What material do you feel best describes you? I'll go first. Lace. Yes. I feel lace describes my personality best. Why? Here are five reasons:

1. Lace has its diva moments. So do I.
2. Lace can be delicate & fussy. It needs to be handled with care, but it can be quite resilient. I can be quite fussy. Sometimes I need to be handled with care. I can be resilient. Sometimes.
3. Lace may appear stuffy, but it can have just a good time as outgoing leather and care free jersey. I can party as hard as the best of them. Life's too short not to.
4. Sometimes lace can be shy. Case in point: undergarments. I can be shy. I like my own space too.
5. Lace can be racy, elegant and chic. Sometimes, I wish I was all three.

So, now it is your turn......what material best describes you. Whether you are leather, velvet, silk, jersey etc, you choose and let me know!

P.S. It appears I am back after a bit of a break. What caused this break? Mid month blogger creative block crisis? Too much technology for one head to bear? Lack of motivation? Truthfully, all three. But I am back with all (hopefully) my creativeness supporting me this time.

Spring Clothes

I'm in the midst of a wardrobe Spring clean. It has become clear as a nice fresh day that I am a hoarder. I keep everything, including dust. Clothes are still accessorized with their tags. Like many people, I hoard old issues of magazines. That's not hoarding, though, it can be called archiving too. A lot of clothes are after getting the boot. No more shopping for me. Not for a long time.

Instead, I am concentrating on the items that I cherish. I will not be known as the old woman who lived in a shoe. I will be the old women wearing faux fur, accessorized with tulle, anklet bracelets, denim shirts, lace skirts, cowboy hats. All whilst reading old issues of Vogue and Elle. The old woman living in a lot of junk. Sounds about right to me.

P.S. Current obsession: denim+lace. What's yours?

If you hoard/archive magazines like me, where do you keep them? I am curious to know. Half my wardrobe space is dedicated to them!

Mademoiselle

Do you ever have laugh out loud moments when you are reading? I know, I do! And this is thanks to Stacey Duguid, Elle UK's executive fashion editor. Or, otherwise known as Mademoiselle. Her monthly column on the back page of Elle UK is a treat. Often, I skip to the end of the magazine, just to get my fix of her witty writing without going through the entire magazine first. Never boring, and always funny...kudos to you, Mademoiselle. Reading her blog on the Elle UK website has been getting me through this fairly dull week.

My Fashion Romance, 13.11.2008
'I've stared internet dating. I'm working with a theory that dating as many men as possible is going to help me to meet 'THE ONE'. Plus I'm saying yes to every single invitation, yuk am I the Kimberly Stewart of fashion? Anyway, that aside, I'm exhausted. Dating several men at the same time and going out every night is not only causing sleep deprivation but a full on wardrobe crisis so I've decided to stock up on the LBD (little black dress). If in doubt in times of crisis, keep it simple....'

Mademoiselle's column may not be to everyones taste, but who reads it and likes? For people who have never heard of this column go to Elle UK and read. Read and laugh!
