Snap Happy? More like Belt-Batty!

I must admit, I haven't been the World's biggest fan of waist belts, over the past few years. Maybe, it was due to a fashion programme I used to watch and the ehhhhh, fashion ''guru'' was way too belt-batty. By belt batty, I mean he used a belt to 'cinch in the waist' on every single outfit! I quickly grew tired of his obvious love of them!

However, I am really starting to like these belts. And two waist belts in particular. The large (ish), studded belt and the skinny, plain belt (tied just like Blake's, of course!).

Are you into these belts? Which one do you prefer?

1.  Suede Stude Belt, £35, Topshop
2. Ultra Skinny Plaited Belt, €21, Warehouse
3. Double Buckle Stud Front Belt, €33, Warehouse
4. Vintage leather belt, £15, Topshop
5. Wide Stud & Eyelet Belt, €50, Warehouse

Kind like the slim ones - I've been looking for an orange one for fall.

I'm a HUGE fan of wide waist cinchers, but I like skinnies too. If you have a small waist, it's the best way to work it. And a belt over a blousy top or jacket with a peplum is a great way to fake an hourglass figure if you're more straight up and down.

The only thing I don't like is when girls (like Blake) wear their belts nearly under their breasts instead of on their waists. There is nothing flattering about that—it makes one look preggers, and really, only pregnant women need to cinch that high.

Love all the belts you chose above!

Sometimes I daydream about strangling a certain guru with his unnecessary waist belts! Love them but it's just overkill with him!
Really loving Prada and the belted knits this season!

I love all belts! But what I love even more is Drew's amazing hair. Is it just me or did this come out of nowhere? Drew has been BRINGING IT on the red carpet lately. I love everything she wears.

I am really into very embelished belts, I have been looking for vintage styles that are all metal. That style would be ideal to dress up any simple outfit!

I like the belt of Blake.

I was hesitant toward belts, too, for some time - they draw attention to your waist (surprise, surprise :)) and if you're not confident about it - it's a total nightmare. But now I love belts - I wear different ones - depending on the outfit, of course! ;)

I thinhk waist belts are such a lovely way to finish off an outfit. Especially for hippier girls, they move emphasis away from the hips. I like skinny belts.

Do I have to choose?! I really do love them both. They add such different looks. The studded one is a little sassy, but the thin one is a bit boho.

I'm really into waist belts - I think they are super flattering. As for the size, wide or skinny - I think it depends on the outfit you are wearing. I usually like ones that are 2.5-3cm wide or ones that are 1cm wide x

i'm more of a thin belt girl. i own one very similar to the one in the first set of pics.

Yes I am into belts. They spice up an outfit!

i really lik e thin belts but thick belts always love lovely on a dres because it can cinch up your waist. . . :)

À LA MODEST said...

I used to always get thick belts when they were all the rage back then, so now I have a butt load of thick belts. I need the skinny belts to just cinch the waste without really having them too visible, you know? I also buy a lot of vintage, and a lot of them are not in my size, so yeah belts are necessary :)

ilsteviewonder said...

I love belts! i whear one almost everyday whether it can be seen or not! but I love both looks! i really like the studs and the skinny one is always classic.

I love, love waist cinching belts! I'm actually quite curvy, but my small waist swims in most clothing. Waist belts help me show more of my natural figure.

I love that second belt, especially tied like that!

I like them both... I've found that the only downside of using belts to cinch the waist is that if you decide to consume a meal, you almost always end up feeling like you are about to explode due to restriction of the midsection. So however trendy it is, belts are not always a very wise outfit choice when you're planning to gorge yourself.
