I couldn't help but wonder how the night,
which reassures designers and models alike,
was coming together.
CFDA Fashion Awards are special,
so special that the carpet last night was grey,
no need for red,
when you have designers, models & actors
strutting up and down,
red is too bright, 'cause grey proved such a delight.
Gwyneth Paltrow in asymmetric black shimmered,
like the Manhattan skylight,
SJP paid tribute to a legend and was gowned
in Alexander McQueen,
Jess Biel was loud and proud in beautiful DVF,
Alexa Chung choose simple beige,
but worked it.
City star Whitney Port looked beautiful in silver,
Jessica Stam chose black,
Rachel Zoe looked proud in Marc Jacobs,
Joan Smalls looked fierce in a mini.
Some chose white, some pink, some red,
some blue, Anna Wintour wore glasses.
This was the perfect NY night.
Standing out from the crowd,
tall and proud, was statuesque stunner
Iman.
Michael Kors was a winner,
so too was Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu,
Christopher Bailey & Alexander Wang.
Designers, models & actors should be proud,
Fashion is always rocky,
but this night was just rockin'.
All in honour of the late, great Alexander McQueen.

Not only did Gwyneth Paltrow arrive on the arm of Michael Kors, she also wore this beautiful black shimmering gown by him. My favourite of the night for sure.

This Diane Von Furstenburg creation is my type of dress and Jessica Biel looked stunning. What do you think?

Sarah Jessica Parker in this bright, floral Alexander McQueen number. She did him proud.

Whitney Port in silver David Meister. I like how simple but effective this gown is.

Alexa Chung in typical Alexa fashion in this Marc Jacobs dress. That length dress would look hideous on me, but she works it.

Model Joan Smalls works this mini. Pictured with Monique Pean.
So what do you think? A starry, starry night?
