My Big Fat McQueen Wedding

I don't know about you, but I'm up for another Alexander McQueen wedding.
Where the very fashionable mother of the bride wears white McQueen. But don't worry, mother's tend not to upstage the bride. When asked who she is wearing, she smiles and says demurely 'Oh, this? Alexander McQueen.' It's a tough life.

Where the very fashionable friend of a friend wears McQueen. This friend of a friend is most definitely trying to upstage in her light blush pink feathered coat/dress. 'You-hoo, look at me.' I'm wearing Alexander McQueen.

Where the bridesmaid who was once unwilling to partake in any such wedding, but when told she could keep the dress, a smile was firmly fixed on her face. The smile was still plastered when she found out she was on 'helping-the-bride-with-her-dress-when-going-to-the-toilet-duty.' 'Alexander McQueen. Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Beautiful dress. With feathers.' Bridesmaid mutters on and on.....

Where the bride disses the notion of a white dress. Or ivory, or even pale pink for that matter. Red. A red Alexander McQueen dress. Perfect, says bride. Just the thing. A dress so beautiful, even the upstager can't help but gasp with longing. Bride wins all the time. Especially in a tiered red Alexander McQueen dress. I do.

Such a gorgeous collection, perfect for make belief and real life alike. I love, and you?

Cat Woman Goes Couture

Well, well, well. Batman is coming back. When you have Batman, you have Catwoman. Anne Hathaway is going to be the catty one this time. Catwoman is fierce. Catwoman is scary. Catwoman is fashionable. I'm sure many fashionistas out there can identify with her.

So, without further ado, here are my Autumn-Winter/ Couture 2011 picks that would fit just right on catwoman.
Miaow for like. Hiss for dis-like.

Catwoman goes 'casual': Catwoman should take a leaf out of Louis Vuitton's A-W collection. This outfit would be perfect for Catwoman to sashay around.Three words: Feminine. Feline. Fatale. The hat adds that extra je ne sais quoi. Let's just call her 'le chat avec mystique'.

Winter Time: Catwoman is from Gotham City. I don't know about you, but this city doesn't sound like it promises eternal sunshine. Cats get cold, too, you know. Don't worry Alexander McQueen will sort out her fear (Catwoman doesn't do fear, but if she did...) of cold. How could Catwoman refuse a coat like this. I mean it looks furry-licious to me. Those lace up boots will ensure that Catwoman stays true to her saucy roots.

Here Comes The Bride: Catwoman married? If Catwoman ever does get married, she has to choose a dress which represents who she really is. This beautiful Alexis Mabille Couture gown is just right. Spikes? Check. Black? Check. A hint of pink? Check. Perfect for Catwoman.

Forget about cheap, tacky plastic outfits, Catwoman is after the best collections Autumn-Winter and Couture can offer. You don't ever want to get on the bad side of her, after all. Remember, she has nine lives. And you? Just the one.

Princess

The meaning of the name Sarah is Princess. Fact. I wish I could be a Princess. Fact. In my own mind, I am a Princess. Fact. I am a real Princess to-be. Fiction.

It's hard not to get caught up in the Royal wedding. Starring: Kate Middleton & Prince William, it is expected to be the event of the decade. Kate Middleton is going to be the ultimate Princess Bride. She is already the ultimate Princess-to be. Her style, her smile and her cheery outlook is catching. Classic style, wide smile. Think Burberry trench coats, suede boots, thick glossy locks & bursts of colour. Very English Rose. As for the wedding dress...who will be the designer? The question on all our fashionably frothed lips.

Classic Boots, Acne
For hair to shine use Redken
Rosy Cheeks, Blush by Topshop

Colour, colour, colour. Alexander McQueen (Net-A-Porter) dress

Who else is looking forward to the upcoming nuptials?

Dare To Balance

Do you ever feel like you are trying to balance a million things at the same time? I know, I do! Therefore, when I saw this Vogue Nippon (March, 2011) editorial, I just had to post about it. Balancing a bird cage on gigantic hair whilst wearing Alexander McQueen? Check! Ever feel like sailing away? Sure, why don't you just balance a boat and you will be battling the seas. With not a hair out of place, obviously! To the High Seas, I go! Just like model Karmen Pedaru in this editorial.

I am a not good at balancing things. I tend to walk around like a headless chicken most of the time. But this editorial shows me that you can be good at balancing and still look perfectly coiffed and oh, so stylish. Of course, you have to take everything I write about with a pinch of salt (I won't be walking around with a bird cage on my head, any time soon), but it's the sentiment (and the clothes & styling, of course!) behind this editorial that I love.

After Vogue Paris, Vogue Nippon is definitely a magazine of great inspiration. Are you good at balancing everything together? And are you this fashionable whilst doing so?

So, now I am off to blow dry my hair, and pack for the weekend and try to find something snazzy to wear on Saturday night, and and and and and....... hmmmm, I really need to work on this balance thing.

McQueen.

Sarah Jessica Parker cut a very stylish figure at Alexander McQueen's memorial service in London, this morning. Wearing pieces from the archives of Alexander McQueen, she did the late designer proud. Just look at those heels and that bag.

What do you think of her look?
