Colour & Stripes & Taylor

Three looks I love this week:

Ashley Olsen looking chic in stripes and a red suit.
Taylor Tomasi-Hill. Does the Marie Claire Accessories Style & Accessories Director ever get it wrong? Love that skirt.
Zara Lookbook April 2011. Zara is the shop full of colour at the moment. Love their spring/summer colour collection, especially their jeans and trousers. Orange, Indigo, Pink...

What are you loving this week?

Oh, and who will be watching the Royal wedding tomorrow morning? I will be glued to the TV screen.

White

Apart from underwear, a (yes, singular) t-shirt and converse, my wardrobe lacks the colour white. The reason? I prefer a bit of colour. Pink, orange, grey.... I am also a bit of a clumsy eater. Food substances on white is not a good look. Food substances on colour is the new colour blocking. Pizza sauce and hot pink? Fabulous, darling!

However, I am attracted to these white accessories, especially that Michael Kors watch. I really need to get my wrist decked out in some MK soon.

Are you in to white or do you prefer brighter, bolder colours?

Cos, I Love You

I went on a massive shopping spree on Friday. A shopping trip that did not include a visit to Primark. Yes, Primark is cheap, it is cheerful, but you wouldn't believe how sick I am with the quality (or lack) of their clothing. I introduced myself with Cos on this shopping trip. I do believe it was love at first sight. Quality clothes. A good price and materials and colours I adore. Cos, I love you.

I have been looking for the perfect LBD for summer and I found it. This dress is beautiful on.

A very welcome addition to my wardrobe.

Happy Easter everyone! I have collected a Lindt bunny family. I fear they won't last long though.

Chocolate-ly goodness!

Does anyone else love Cos?

P.S. In the post below, the skirt is from American Apparel (I bought it) and the fringed top is from Topshop (that stayed in the shop).

Where Was Sarah Today?

I have seen a few bloggers posting their changing room outfit. So, I decided to add my two cents worth and follow their lead. But there is a twist....

....After all, life would be boring without something different. The difference being that you have to guess which store I am in.

I will give you a little hint. The two stores that I feature are from two completely different countries, where English is the main language, give or take (I don't want to get into the technicalities of it all).

Start guessing!

Kate

Everyone wants a piece of Kate. Whenever I see Kate on a front cover I tend to ignore it. However, this Vogue Paris, May 2011 cover caught my attention. Love the bold background. Love Kate's pose. Love the chic, yet blinging Armani Privé jacket. Love the strong muscly arms. Love the contrast between the dainty (Kate) and the weighty (arms). Smoking attitude, is right.

And your thoughts on this Vogue Paris cover?

Lace Describes Me

Well hello there!

I don't know if any of you read Reese Witherspoon's interview in the May edition of ELLE UK? No, yes? Well, this is what jumped out at me: "I would probably summarise my whole personality by saying I'm very... cardigan." What comes to your mind when you think of cardigans? I think cardigans are comforting, soft & welcoming. Reese described herself very well, because that is what I feel her personality is like.

I have another question for you: What material do you feel best describes you? I'll go first. Lace. Yes. I feel lace describes my personality best. Why? Here are five reasons:

1. Lace has its diva moments. So do I.
2. Lace can be delicate & fussy. It needs to be handled with care, but it can be quite resilient. I can be quite fussy. Sometimes I need to be handled with care. I can be resilient. Sometimes.
3. Lace may appear stuffy, but it can have just a good time as outgoing leather and care free jersey. I can party as hard as the best of them. Life's too short not to.
4. Sometimes lace can be shy. Case in point: undergarments. I can be shy. I like my own space too.
5. Lace can be racy, elegant and chic. Sometimes, I wish I was all three.

So, now it is your turn......what material best describes you. Whether you are leather, velvet, silk, jersey etc, you choose and let me know!

P.S. It appears I am back after a bit of a break. What caused this break? Mid month blogger creative block crisis? Too much technology for one head to bear? Lack of motivation? Truthfully, all three. But I am back with all (hopefully) my creativeness supporting me this time.

Take Three

Hello from a slightly distressed big-headed fashionista,

I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was to pick something to wear today. My wardrobe is literally bursting with fabulous creations. From beautiful Rodarte, to the ever floral Erdem, to my new favourite up and coming designer Mary Katrantzou.

In the end, I just couldn't decide. I mean what's a girl with a big head like mine supposed to do? Wear them all. That's what. Three designer's, three luxurious dresses made out of the finest materials possible, three bloated heads, one deluded blogger. So, there I was floating around........

.........when I suddenly remembered what I really wore today: Black Topshop jeans, a denim chambray shirt, my ever present flats, straight hair. Just normal. Definitely not photo worthy. Rodarte, Erdem and Mary Katrantzou? Definitely photo worthy. How I love these designers for their beautiful work.

What did you wear today? You can be truthful or not. Up to yourself. Oh, and out of the three dresses, which one would you wear, l-r: Rodarte, Erdem or Mary Katrantzou?

Pretend

Lets play pretend. Pretend you were given the chance to step into a famous fashion player's shoes for one year. From the designer who creates, to the chief-in-editor who decides if this creation is worthy, to the fashion stylist who thinks everything is fabulous.

Three different professions all in the same industry. For one year and one year only, what would you like to do? Design, Edit or Style. This is a once in a life time chance, choose wisely.

Me? I want to be Chief-In-Editor, please! I can feel all that power going to my head.....

Rapunzel

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair.

I love the vintage feel of this editorial. I love Malgosia Bela's long locks. I love how Bela's hair has convinced me not to chop off my own hair, but to keep growing it. I love the lighting. I love the contrasting soft colours with the bold, bright colours. I love the dresses. I love the styling. I love the dewy make-up.  I love this Vogue Turkey (April) editorial. That is all.

Talkative Clothes

OMG! Clothes and accessories that speak. Is it a yay or a nay for you? Trashy or classy? Fashionable or not?

I would definitely wear the Moschino Cheap and Chic Smile jumper. I would also happily buy the Disney 'Believe' necklace. A bit of belief goes a long way, right? The Topshop OMG t-shirt? Hmmmm... Not really my style. I know. How Oh My God of me. The Moschino Cheap and Chic t-shirt? Yes. I wouldn't refuse anything from Moschino, thank you very much. Don't judge me.
